Hello everyone! Here is my completed sewing project for the week. I made four skirts all the same for fall. The fabrics range from cotton, jean, to faux suede. Great fall fabrics and colors. I didn't use a pattern. I just simply cut according to my own measurements and paneled it down the fabric. These skirts take up about one yard of fabric and two lengths in lining. You can easily make them for about $15.00 worth of supplies. It's totally worth it and a great way to build on your own wardrobe. The best part is that you can wear them long, still have a bit of leg showing and of course wear boots. Boots are necessary in New England. We put them on usually in late September and only start wearing shoes again sometime in April.  Here you can see the matching lining. You don't have to have an exact match. Last night was the perfect opportunity to wear the latest Emilie Floge dress. My friend and professional artist Deborah Macy had an opening exhibit at the Gallery X downtown New Bedford. I’m a big fan of her art and she is a big fan of my dresses. In turn she and I collaborated in a painting where I posed for her wearing one of my gowns. She added so much detail to the dress it was incredible. It was the first time I saw it in person. We displayed the gown side to side with the painting to give viewers a feel of what went into the painting. It was a lot of fun sharing the experience with others.  OK sewing world, here is my second Emilie Floge inspired dress. I feel like these dresses belong to everyone to enjoy. Good evening everyone! Tonight was a special night. I wore for the first time in public the  Emilie Floge inspired dress that I created earlier this year. It was a fun evening and everyone got such a kick out of the dress. I was happy to share not only the dress but also the story behind the designer Emilie Floge. Arts matter. The excitement of sewing it lasted right through the finish. I couldn’t seem to place it down. The feel of this dress is beyond comfortable. It’s powerful. A different kind of beauty. Outfits #52, 53 and 54.  Hello everyone! It's been an incredible sewing week. I just completed three tops and three matching skirts. And I couldn't be happier. The patterns I used are tried and true. They are simple to make and easy to wear. The materials for the tops as well as the lining came from Bedford Fabrics in Fall River. The skirt materials are from JoAnn's fabrics and believe it or not it's summer upholstery material. It holds up really well and I so love the patterns and vibrant colors of these fabrics. I plan to use these outfits for everyday wear. I like to look nice even when I'm in my back yard. Let's face it, these are the days of our lives. Everyday matters. Why not look our best. As I wear the other outfits, I will add  a couple of picture to this post. Overall, the look is the same, It's the combination of the vibrant colors that are so refreshing.
